Scientists turn CO2 into fuel using breakthrough single-atom catalyst
Researchers have developed a single-atom indium catalyst capable of converting CO2 into methanol with unprecedented efficiency, significantly cutting the energy required for the reaction. By isolating individual atoms rather than relying on metal clusters, the team also made the conversion process far easier to analyze and refine. The breakthrough could fast-track the development of cleaner fuels and reshape how the chemical industry approaches sustainable production.

Ultra-processed foods linked to 67% higher risk of heart attack and stroke
A large U.S. study has found that consuming around nine daily servings of ultra-processed foods raises the risk of heart attack, stroke, or cardiovascular death by 67% compared to those eating just one serving. Crucially, the risk wasn't confined to extreme intake β every additional serving per day pushed the odds up by more than 5%. The findings add serious weight to the case for treating processed food consumption as a meaningful cardiovascular risk factor, not just a dietary preference.
